THE YELLOW SHADOW
Therapy is a tool that helps me stay in tune with myself and better enables me to listen to my instincts and feelings. It was a journey that I was initially anxious to embark on, but the green couch I settled onto upon entering my therapist's room for the first time made me feel safe and at ease. It was as if I was sitting on soft green grass.
Firstly, I believe that everyone has their own traumas to overcome and shadows to accept. One of my main shadows is a condition of mine called endometriosis, which is represented worldwide by the colour yellow.
In the past, I did everything to hide my condition. However, with time and thanks to therapy, I learned that instead of fighting it, I needed to embrace my yellow shadow as part of me and learn to live with it.
This is not an easy journey to undertake, but it was my first step toward improvement and it inspired me to share this message: whatever the colour or size of your shadow, be open and talk about it.
