Body Story
connect with the sitter
Body Stories is a two-hour life drawing class that brings together professional life-drawing models and guest sitters who share stories connected to their bodies and lived experiences.
Guest sitters may include members of the LGBTQ+ community, people from racially and ethnically marginalised communities, people living with invisible illnesses, or anyone whose body carries a story that is rarely given space to be heard. As participants draw, they are invited to listen to personal reflections, experiences, and perspectives, creating a deeper connection between observation and understanding.
The class is designed as a respectful and supportive environment where sitters can be seen, heard, and listened to. Through drawing and conversation, participants are encouraged to engage with the diversity of human experience while developing their observational skills.
Open to everyone, the class welcomes participants of all drawing abilities, from complete beginners to experienced artists.
“My body has always been more than something i inhabit. it’s something i collaborate with. i’ve treated it like a sketchbook and a stage, layering ink, shadow, and intention onto skin that remembers everything. every mark feels like a..”
